About ResultSheet
ResultSheet is a UK‑focused sports‑timing application aimed at cycling time-trial events. Its goal is to replace outdated, error‑prone manual result systems (paper, spreadsheets) with a reliable and intuitive digital alternative.
The Challenge
Precovid, organising cycling time trials was a fairly traditional process involving hours of manual admin, posing several persistent problems:
- Manual time‑keeping and data entry is labour‑intensive and error‑prone
- Delays in result publication meant that participants and spectators had to wait long periods for final standings, taking away from the overall experience
- Generic tools (e.g. spreadsheets) lacked support for event‑specific requirements such as split‑timing, age‑group calculations, and real‑time updates
The community needed a dedicated, user‑friendly, and efficient solution tailored specifically for cycling time trials that in turn would improve the rider experience and encourage more people to the sport.
The Solution
ResultSheet engaged StartHQ to design and build a purpose-built timing and results platform. Over a 3‑month development period, we delivered:
- Device‑agnostic result capture — organisers can input times from any device (desktop, tablet or phone)
- Real-time results delivery — results are pushed immediately to mobile devices, large screens, and projectors, so participants and spectators see results as they happen
- Automated, industry-standard calculations — the app performs age‑group classifications and other official timing calculations automatically
- Support for split timing — capable of recording multiple times per rider, useful for longer or multi-stage events
- Full API support — clubs and third-party tools can integrate directly with ResultSheet’s backend
- Stripe integration for billing/subscriptions — enabling easy, secure payments for users and clubs
In addition, StartHQ provided full legal documentation: website terms, customer & partner agreements, and privacy policy — giving ResultSheet a solid compliance and commercial foundation.
